Fillers are another very popular thing to get these days. It can be a little bit confusing though, there are so many out there. I could name 10 or 15 off the top of my head and most of them are quite adequate and the differences between them are minimal. But it is important to be seeing a doctor that knows the difference between these fillers, knows where to inject them and how to inject them. This is something that I do, there are many places where a nurse injector does them or it might be a doctor that’s not a plastic surgeon but I personally inject all my patients with filler.
We’ve had lots of patients be extremely happy with the way they look and I like to get my patients to participate. I don’t want someone to come in here and then they walk out, their lips are too large, they look like Daffy Duck and they’re unhappy and then that gets out into the community, that this is the kind of work they got. I actually let my patients hold a mirror after I have injected and let them participate and say, “Yes, Dr. MaDan, that’s enough filler.” or “No, I’d like more.” or “No, I think this spot needs a little correction.” I think that they, the patient, has also a unique eye to what they are trying to accomplish and I value their opinion.
