Restylane Lyft (Perlane) in Nashville, TN
Many people are shocked to find out that as they age, they are bothered not only with sagging skin and wrinkles, but also with a loss of volume in certain areas. Plastic Surgery Affiliates offers Restylane Lyft (Perlane®) treatment to patients in Nashville, Brentwood, Hendersonville and the surrounding areas in Tennessee to restore lost volume due to aging.
What is Restylane Lyft?
Restylane Lyft, or Perlane, is a clear gel composed of hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance in the body. Perlane® is chemically structured to delay breakdown by skin enzymes. When injected into the skin, it binds with water molecules, swelling the tissues with water and giving the skin a plump and youthful appearance. This process smoothes away wrinkles and restores volume to sagging areas. Dr. Hueneke is one of few plastic surgeons in the area who administers all Restylane Lyft treatments himself, without the assistance of a nurse injector.
What Areas Does Restylane Lyft (Perlane) Treat?
In our Nashville office, we treat patients with Restylane Lyft in the nasolabial folds (the parentheses from your nose to the corners of your mouth), under the eyes, the upper cheeks, and the forehead. Restylane Lyft is more effective under the eyes than similar dermal fillers, as it does not leave a bluish appearance like the others.
Am I a Good Candidate for Perlane® Treatment?
Perlane® is a large molecule and, therefore,it can plump large areas of skin. If you are experiencing “parentheses” around the mouth, sagging to the cheeks or bags underneath the eyes, then Perlane® can restore plumpness and firmness to these drooping areas. It can also smooth deep lines and wrinkles.
What Does a Perlane® Treatment Entail?
Perlane® is injected into the areas to be treated with an ultra-fine needle, after receiving a lidocaine or epinephrine block to reduce pain. The lidocaine or epinephrine block also reduces bruising and swelling. The needle is artfully injected in the areas to be treated, creating an even and natural look. The procedure takes approximately 30-45 minutes, and the patient can immediately return to regular activities. You will leave the office with minimal discomfort. We suggest an ice-pack post-procedure every few hours for the next 24 hours to reduce swelling and bruising. Perlane® is naturally occurring in the body and is created from non-animal proteins, so pre-treatment allergy testing is unnecessary.
What are the Typical Results of Receiving Perlane®?
You should see an immediate improvement in the treatment areas with minimal bruising or swelling. It will help fill, smooth, and minimize the lines, wrinkles, and folds into which it is injected. It will also plump the cheeks and reduce bagginess under the eyes. For most patients, Perlane® lasts approximately eight months, although the duration may be shorter or longer. Supplemental treatments may be required to achieve and maintain optimal results.
What are the Advantages of Perlane® over Other Dermal Fillers?
The biggest advantage Perlane® offers is the fact that it can be injected into multiple areas of the face such as the forehead, jowls, cheeks, and under the eyes. It also contains hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in the body, so there is very little chance of a reaction.
