When to Consider a Facelift
Most women start thinking about aging early – years before men. At BEYOND Collective, we hear this question a lot – “How young is too young to consider a facelift?” Our answer surprises most people. Due to a variety of factors, which include societal pressure to take care of our skin, an increase in sunscreen usage, and non-surgical procedures, we actually recommend facelifts later and later in life.
If you’re feeling and seeing the effects of aging, typically we recommend dermal fillers and injectables, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and more before considering a facelift. If you have discussed other methods of anti-aging with your plastic surgeon or have tried them and are no longer pleased with the results, it’s time to consider a facelift.
Good candidates for a facelift are:
- Physically and psychologically healthy
- Aware of the risks and complications of the surgery
- Has good skin elasticity
- Non-smoker, or has quit smoking at least two weeks before the surgery
