Facelift

What is a Face Lift?

A face lift (Rhytidectomy) is a type of facial cosmetic procedure designed to smooth and firm the skin around the face and counteract the toll that time, sun exposure, gravity, and daily stress have taken. 

What To Expect:
Sagging neck and jowls as well as that "tired look" are treated with this surgery. The improvements are quite impressive. A variety of techniques for facial rejuvenation exist and your consultation will determine which one is right for you.

Standard procedure calls for an incision to be made just inside the hairline, following the contour of the ear, and continuing under the earlobe to the underside of the ear and to the lower scalp.  Excess skin is then removed, and the remaining skin is pulled back to the incision line, where the skin is stitched back together.

The procedure can take several hours, depending on whether the patient is also receiving a neck or brow lift, or if any other facial procedures are being performed that day.

Pre-Procedure:

Post-Procedure:
Immediately following surgery, your face will be fitted with bandages to reduce swelling, as both swelling and bruising are common post-operative events. This improves over a 5-7 day period.  Stitches, staples, and clips are usually removed within a week of surgery.
