BREAST AUGMENTATION

Procedure Description:

What To Expect:
This surgery is done as an outpatient either under a general anesthetic or a local with sedation. There are many ways to perform this operation and your surgeon will discuss with you the best approach for your body (for example, implant placement above or below the muscle).

Preprocedure:
Will be discussed at length during your consultation. Before and after photos can be shown at your consultation. Our doctors will typically spend 45 minutes discussing this procedure. Consultations are FREE OF CHARGE.

Postprocedure:
In general, you will have mild to moderate pain after the operation that will be well controlled with pain medicine. You will also be given antibiotics for a few days. The swelling and soreness usually subsides over 5-7 days.

BREAST LIFT

Procedure Description:
Restoring the position of the breast.

What To Expect:
Breast lift or mastopexy will bring the breast back to a more youthful, normal position. Implants are sometimes used to increase the volume of the breast as well.

Preprocedure:
During the consutlation, your breasts will be examined and the proper technique for you will be explained. Before and after photos are available.

Postprocedure:
Depending upon the method used, you will have some swelling and bruising for 1-2 weeks. This will gradually subside. Most patients are able to get back to work in 5-7 days.
 

BREAST REDUCTION

Procedure Description:
Making breasts smaller.

What To Expect:
Breast reduction patients are among our happiest. The relief of neck and shoulder pain is immediate. Generally patients stay one night in the hospital and only use pain medicine for a few days. Most women are back to work in 1-2 weeks. A majority of the time, this surgery is covered by insurance policies.

Preprocedure:
During your consultation, the details of the procedure will be discussed and you will be shown before/after photos.

Postprocedure:
The day following your surgery you will go home. Some patients require the drain tubes left in place for a few days. 
 

BREAST RECONSTRUCTION

Procedure Description:
Restoring cosmesis following mastectomy.

What To Expect:
Breast cancer and mastectomy can be devastating to a woman. Reconstructive procedures have improved tremendously over the last decade. Dr. Hueneke provides a variety of options for his patients including skin sparing mastectomy and immediate reconstruction with TRAM flap.

Preprocedure:
The consultation will take about one hour to fully discuss your options. Since 1998, Federal law has mandated insurance companies pay for these services.

Postprocedure:
Breast reconstruction requires a huge committment from both the surgeon and patient. At least 2-3 surgeries are necessary and the process will take up to 6 months. The surgery, however, is extremely rewarding and we have many women who are willing to share their experiences.
